A Day of Brilliance and Pride: St Mary’s Teemore Shine at Cumann na mBunscol Tournament
It is with immense pride that we extend huge congratulations to our amazing girls' team for their truly brilliant display at the Cumann na mBunscol 5-aside tournament held on Wednesday, at Castle Park, Lisnaskea. The day was a magnificent showcase of everything we value in our students: skill, determination, and exceptional teamwork.
From the moment the first whistle blew, the team demonstrated a clinical focus that set them apart. They didn't just compete; they dominated their group stages, securing a remarkable five wins from five games and topping their table in impeccable style. This perfect start was a testament to their dedication in training and their ability to work as a cohesive unit under pressure.
Their momentum continued, as they moved into the challenging knockout phases. They faced superb, hard-fought matches against strong teams from St Tierney's Roslea and St Macartan’s Adrumsee. In both contests, our girls showed incredible grit and resilience, digging deep to secure crucial victories and rightfully earning a coveted spot in the tournament final.
The championship decider against St Mary's Newtownbutler was everything a final should be. It was a thrilling, end-to-end spectacle and a true test of competitive spirit. It was a fiercely close contest that went right down to the final whistle. While they were unfortunately defeated by just two points on the day, their performance throughout the final, and indeed the entire tournament, was nothing short of brilliant.
Every single player gave their absolute best, showcasing not just their individual talent but also the profound sportsmanship and dedication that defines our school community. By competing with such grá and tenacity, they continue to uphold the high standards set by those who wore the jersey before them. They have represented St Mary's Teemore with outstanding distinction.
Well done, girls! Your achievements today have brought great honour to our school, and we could not be prouder of you all.
