A runaway success at cross country!
We are incredibly proud of our pupils who represented the school at the recent Fermanagh Omagh District Council Cross Country Championships. Held at the Bawnacre Centre in Irvinestown, the event brought together schools from across the county, with hundreds of children competing in a series of challenging races.
Our young athletes showed remarkable determination, resilience, and team spirit throughout the day. Competing in warm conditions, they rose to the occasion with grit and enthusiasm. There were standout performances from Ava Owens and Davin Quaile (Primary 7) who placed 1st in their age categories, earning well-deserved praise from spectators and organisers alike.
A special mention must also go to Ayla Garry (Primary 4), who placed 2nd in the girl’s race, Peter McBrien, who came an impressive 3rd in the Primary 5 category and Lucy Flanagan, who along with Leo Kiernan in Primary 6, finished in the top 5 of their respective races.
Beyond the medals and rankings, what stood out most was the camaraderie amongst the teams. Pupils cheered each other on, celebrated together, and demonstrated outstanding sportsmanship — values we are proud to see carried beyond the classroom. A special mention must go to our youngest competitors, many of whom were taking part in their first ever championship, and did so with bravery and smiles on their faces.
We would like to thank the supervising staff, supporting families and representatives from FODC, who supported the children on the day of the event. Their encouragement played a vital role in this memorable success. Congratulations once again to all involved — you’ve done the school proud!
