The children of St Mary’s have been delighted to participate in Feis Lios na Scéithe in recent weeks.
The word ‘Feis’ means ‘festival’, of course, and many of our students have greatly enjoyed embracing and upholding the ethos of Lisnaskea Feis, which is to encourage the study, cultivation and promotion of the Arts for schoolchildren in the wider Lisnaskea area.
Our pupils participated in a ‘festival’ of several elements and components, namely: Art, Verse Speaking, Own Poetry and Handwriting. We were delighted to gather together as a school community to acknowledge and encourage the core values of participation, effort, and using and sharing our gifts and talents, whilst also celebrating the individual success and achievements of many of our children in the Art and Verse Speaking competitions. (Results in Own Poetry and Handwriting are not available at this time of writing.)
We congratulate all of our girls and boys for their wonderful efforts, and thank our school staff for their tremendous hard work and support. We also pay tribute to our parents, and to the Officers and Committee of Feis Lios na Scéithe, for your commitment and dedication to the precious children and young people of our local communities and county.
