Sunday, 22nd March 2026 was surely a memorable and proud day for St Mary’s, when our school’s Quiz Team participated in the Cumann na mBunscol All-Ireland National Sports Quiz Final, as one of only 39 teams from across Ireland.
Having competed in the Fear Manach county final, initially, and deemed victorious therein (for the second consecutive year), our team then travelled to Tullamore, Co. Offaly to proudly represent their families, school, Club and county, on the All-Ireland stage. Our young people competed and conducted themselves with distinction, honour, competence and pride.
We extend our collective congratulations and best wishes to Rónán, Senan, Odhrán and Conor, on your historic and tremendous achievements! A word of special commendation is also conveyed to Clodagh, Sadhbh and Doireann, for your fantastic support and assistance in a whole myriad of ways. We hope that Sunday, 22nd March was a day and an experience that you all greatly enjoyed, and one that will remain with you, in the time ahead.
We also convey many congratulations and appreciation to parents and families who accompanied you on your special day, along with school staff and the Officers and committee members of Cumann na mBunscol Náisiúnta. Míle buiochas to our students, parents and teachers, and to everyone who worked so hard for this wonderful day. We greatly appreciate, too, the kind messages of support and best wishes from Cumann na mBunscol Fear Manach and from our students’ local Club - Teemore Shamrocks GFC.

Further best wishes will accompany our team on 22nd April, hopefully, as our young people continue to prepare for the Cumann na mBunscol Quiz Uladh/Ulster, which will take place in Ballygawley, Co. Tyrone on 22nd. Once again, undoubtedly, you will represent St Mary’s most honourably and impressively on that day, please God.
