Gracing the Hallowed Sod of St Tiernach’s Park, Clones - Ulster Final Day, 2024

19th May 2024

The pride, congratulations and best wishes of our students, staff and wider school community, travelled with our Primary Seven student - Joe Curry - in recent days.

Representing St Mary’s, his family, Club and parish, Joe graced St Tiernach’s Park, Clones on Sunday afternoon, last - 12th May - on Ulster Football Final Day, as Donegal played Armagh for the 2024 Ulster Senior Football Championship and The Anglo-Celt Cup (with Donegal prevailing, at the end of an epic game!)

Following his participation in recent Gaelic trials held by Cumann na mBunscol Fhear Manach, Joe was one of only four boys from Co. Fermanagh selected to play in the exhibition game, which took place prior to the Senior game.

On this great day, too - the most important day in Ulster GAA, held in the principal stadium of Ulster GAA - Joe was delighted to proudly wear one of two new Ulster GAA jerseys, which had been released ahead of this year’s Ulster Senior Football Championship Final, in recent weeks. Designed by O’Neill’s and centred on the traditional provincial colours of amber and back, the jerseys have a modern look with knitted collar, silicon crest and feature all nine Ulster county names on the sleeve. Undoubtedly, this distinctive and unique jersey, which was a gift to Joe and his peers from Ulster GAA, will hold particular significance for him, in the time ahead.

Many congratulations and best wishes to Joe and your lovely family!

May Ulster Final Day 2024 always hold special memories for you...
