The final days of August heralded a brand new academic school year in St Mary’s - the new year of 2025/2026.
And it was during these opening days of our new school year, especially, that our school community - children, parents and staff - welcomed each other back to school, sharing stories and experiences of summer holidays and family gatherings; regaling tales of places visited, hobbies shared, fun and adventures enjoyed; reminiscing on and recalling fantastic days of sunshine, and time spent relaxing, resting and recharging, for the new year which lies before us. May the months ahead be most happy and successful for everyone, holding and promising lots of opportunities, friendships and new experiences for all.
A particularly special word of thanks is conveyed to our wonderful Primary Seven students for the kindness, friendship, patience and love, gifted to our new little Primary One children over these first days and weeks. It has been so joyful and uplifting to witness the bonds of friendship develop and grow. Amidst the sharing of many activities and games, our older students were delighted to have the opportunity to create friendship bracelets for their little friends. Well done to our fantastic mentors and caring young people in Primary Seven; may your guidance, support, friendship and empathy be a constant in the lives of our youngest pupils, in the time ahead.

As we journey through the Season of Creation in these weeks - from 1st September until 4th October and the Feast Day of St Francis of Assisi - may we all take the time to reflect on this year’s theme ‘Peace with Creation’ and appreciate the great beauty of nature and the world around us, every single day…
