P5 had a special visitor!

On Tuesday 21st November, P5 were very excited to welcome a special visitor into class. David Given, from Lisnaskea Fire Station, came to speak to the children about being fire safe and spotting potential fire hazards. There was a lot of discussion around what might be a potential fire hazard in our home and how to be a fire detective and spot the hazard.

The children were really interested to hear about what life is like as a fireman and to hear some real life stories from David. We were surprised at the amount of call-outs the fire service have to attend, not just fires! 

David’s big message yesterday, for the children, was to check at home that the smoke alarm is working and to discuss at home your fire exit route.
