Shared Education 2025 ends with ‘Celebration Day’
In terms 1 and 2 of this academic year, the children from Primaries Two through to Five, have enjoyed a series of visits to Castlepark and Fairgreen National School. The activities were designed as part of our participation in the Peaceplus ASPIRE programme, ‘Shared Education’.
St Mary’s has a long standing relationship, with Fairgreen NS in Belturbet, and we want to continue to develop this friendship and sense of community for many years to come. The children have been lucky enough, to enjoy a wide range of activities provided by Core Kids, Elevate Coaching and HIPP Psychology.
Our junior classes also paid a visit to Fairgreen, to participate in African drumming and games, whilst the senior classes kept in contact via online video conferencing. This gave the children many opportunities, to discuss their similarities and differences.
During our Celebration Day, we also had lots of fun with arts and crafts, a bouncy castle, soft play, a visit to the park. Athletics and games organised by Elevate Coaching, put our teamwork and communication skills to the test!
The day ended with a talent show, in which the boys and girls put on a wonderful display of musical talent, dancing and singing. Based on recent feedback from the children, they cannot wait to meet up with their new friends again and we will get busy planning next year’s programme, in the coming months.
A special word of thanks must be mentioned, to all the staff members from Fairgreen and St Mary’s, who helped make Shared Education 2025 possible. Your support and hard work, is very much appreciated.
