We were delighted to have the honour of Mary Drumm and comrades from Derrylin/Teemore knitting group, join us for Shared Education this year. The ladies visited Fairgreen National School, earlier in the year, to make friendship bracelets with the Junior group, over a period of three consecutive weeks.
They returned to St Mary’s on Tuesday, 23rd of June to present a beautifully curated patchwork quilt, that was made out of the children’s perception of peace.
Our theme of Shared Education this year, was peace and reconciliation and through music, art and storytelling along with a sub focus of STEM, which helped develop our communication, conflict and resolution skills along with problem solving.
We thank everyone who was involved this year including Core Kids, Kakaboom, Tara Donohoe Art, Fairgreen PTA, Sentinus, Teemore Shamrocks and the knitting society and look forward to another year of fun and friendship, with our friends ‘down the road’!
